How meta is this? I have an idea for software that will replicate the function of the old 3 by 5 card “idea box.” I don’t have time to work on it, so I’m writing it on a 3 by 5 card and stashing it in the idea box.

Yup, had software like that when I got my first computer in late 1985. It was a DOS app called Sidekick, was one of the first so called PIMs, and kicked the ass off of anything made then or since.
Neat app today is the electronic verson of Post-It notes. It actually works and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and will run on damn near anything.
