Quick Note to Highbrid Nation

by Frank Paynter on September 24, 2007

Going back and forth about publishing the trackback to your post in my comments because of the inflammatory racial slur in your header. Sorry, because your post adds a dimension to the discussion that’s been missing, namely: What do the grand dragon-meister racist nose-picking neo-nazi klan bangers think about all this and where will the chicken-shit-sheet-shrouded-sheep burn their next kross? I know I’ve been wondering.

NOT!!

Anyway, when I saw your young black hip-hop community informed use of — yes, I gotta call it “the N word,” I was disappointed because I’m proud that you linked to me, but I didn’t want to publish the trackback because that word would be bolded in the comment heading. You have a good blog there. Good content. I’ll be back to read more.

My friend Bruce Jacobs, a man I spent too little time with a year or so ago in Memphis, wrote a book called Race Manners for the 21st Century. Chapter 12 in Race Manners is titled, “You My Nigga: Who’s Naming Whom.” If you have a chance to read that chapter you’ll understand why I struggled around releasing the trackback from moderation. I’m so white.

But, yes — I do go back and forth on this. Don’t expect consistency. Hopefully the links in this post make up for moderating the trackback.

Black-on-black violence: how does the community at large respond? This video, from the award winning blog What About Our Daughters, provides a clue.
