So What?

I’ve missed Shelley Powers for the last month or so. It’s been a while since she updated her blog. This morning though it was all Shelley all the time. She left a comment at Doc’s and at Jeneane’s and she pointed to the O’Reilly “Women in Technology” series where she published an essay last week titled “So What?” Shelley’s essay sparked a lively conversation in the comments. I have only read one of the nine other essays that are currently posted, but the discussion around Shelley’s article, made me curious about the quality of discussion that might follow the others, so I skimmed the comments on each essay. Besides “So What?” there are two other essays that so far have sparked a lot of discussion, and I found it interesting that Shelley was a major catalyst in the comment thread of one of them.

I’m glad she surfaced for a bit. It’s always interesting to read what she has to say.

Speaking of sabre-rattling, when are we gonna see more of your fellowship work, FP?

Good question Charles. My offhand and eclectic approach to life on this blog may not be appropriate for my sociology “work product.” Still, I imagine notes and observations will begin to surface here over the next few months and by New Year I hope I can provide a link to something meaningful.
