Wealth and Fame as an artist…

May 8, 2008

If I were to reproduce the artwork below on 4 x 8 sheets of plywood do you think people would buy them for window covering during hurricane season? How about if I send this to China and have it made into coordinated towel and bathmat sets, place mats, and doormats? Could I get volume sales in WalMart? How about if I just saw the plywood apart and sell each image for — I dunno — $600? This could transformate the entire art industry.

How thick is the plywood?

As for the “thickness” of the plank, i suggest you apply the “rule of thumb”.

Yes, thanks. Nice suggestions all. I’ve pondered the implications and decided to order rolls of 48″ web uncoated mylar, run them through a four color press to replicate the art, trim to eight foot lengths and apply a commercial grade adhesive and stock backing to the reverse side. Then no matter what your plywood budget during hurricane season, whether you can afford 5/8″ plywood or not, you can dress up your home’s exterior with this adhesive art product! Maybe I can get a FEMA grant to cut down some of the start-up costs!

I better print up some non-adhesive rolls too. People will want these for their car windows. And vinyl! This art printed on vinyl would make a fine “bus-wrap.”
