Jeneane and Euan each speak to the distancing effects of syndication and blog subscriptions and reading each other in aggregators. I’m with them on this. Jeneane manages to suck a comment out of old InfoGlutz himself. Shelley adds another dimension to the discussion.

I don’t know. I’m not buying the arguments of js and euan. Though i liked jeneane’s line - it’s like going over to someone’s house for dinner and eating on the front lawn. I think it was hers. And therein lies the problem. I have never felt I was visiting someone’s space or place when visiting their blog page. Though I must say when I land on a corp site I really do feel like I’ve hit a wall. Doc’s arguments about the internet being a place have always felt a little forced. The argument doesn’t ring true on an intuitive level. And yes we are here for the writing and the conversation, but also ideas and contacts and business etc. So then the onus is on us - we bloggers - to disconnect our rss feeds, delete our links to sitemeter, and disown technorati - or whatever. And though I’m not buying their argument, I don’t use an aggregator myself. And I’m wondering what and more importantly who I’m missing.
Frank, can you email me please?
