Two weeks to go and the Obama campaign has to watch its step. Not only are the cult-Christians pulling out all the racism stops, the ethically challenged right wing is hammering on a defamation theme, constructing lies about ACORN, and guilt-by-association with the Bill Ayers story.
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party.
The Republican campaign theme is grounded in some kind of updated red-baiting with “terrorists” and “ACORN” standing in for communists in the play. Unless an earth shaking event on a par with the Reichstag fire or 9/11 happens, it looks pretty good for Obama right now. But this is a race, and we’re in the last lap and it’s time to put on a finishing kick… no time to stop and smell the poseys track-side… it’s time for a sprint to the finish line. Even in a landslide, every vote counts.
So campaign organizers are concerned right now about the flake rate, the number of us who have been active who will flake out of canvassing, calling, or other volunteer work between now and November 4th. So let’s do our best to keep the vote count high and the flake rate low.
