Chumming…

Clicked thru Daily Kos today and had one of those moments of semantic/perceptual ambiguity wherein I mistook the glyph “Kos” for “Hos.” Smiled at that. Googled Daily Hos. Ran smack into the JSTOR firewall. Lost the spark, because even though I now can poke a hole in that firewall, it requires much logging in, seeking the journal, pulling up the article, all done in a manual, clumsy way — a way suited perhaps for the deliberate trudge-drudgery of academic research, but not at all suited to the poetic sparkle of decent writing.

Daily Hos… that could be insulting. Wouldn’t want that. Clean not mean. That’s me. Thought about glyphs, chops, characters, ideographs… got an idea… how about an image map of Mayan glyphs? Kind of thing Michelle was always on about. Here Michelle… check this out:

Daily Hos? What kind of hos would trade off the Bill of Rights to be sure the smirking horndog in the White House wouldn’t call them back from their summer vacation to deal with his veto of a decent piece of legislation? Why not just impeach the son of a bitch if he vetoes the bill? The Senate’s “compromise” on this shows that they are as afraid as the day the putsch-meisters sent the anthrax to the press and to the Senate. Cowards all.

Off the table, Nancy? Put it back on the table.
