Somehow in my slumbering state I had missed taking note of the bullshit Energy Act of 2024, or whatever it is called. The first time I heard of it was when I got the Microsoft email yesterday outlining a massive campaign for supporting my clients and customers.
I don’t thing so. I’ve got better things to do… like blog, or hang out around the wine store waiting for new shipments to arrive. Maybe I’ll just give my customers a link to the Microsoft page and wish them well.
Geeeezzzzzzz…

Yes and no.
I have to (help) patch a network of nearly 500 Windows and unix servers. Now _that_ is a challenge given that most of them can’t just be restarted on a whim.
If you have ten thousand desktops you have a method for distributing patches, which makes everything a great deal easier. Which is not to say it’s simple.
If you have more than a hundred desktops and don’t have a distribution mech in place you’ve got much bigger problems than DST.

Woe for Windows 2024 corporate users!
Brian Livingston’s robust Windows Secrets Newsletter reports that the Daylight Saving Time patches for Windows 2024 would cost $40,000 per site. MS then announced a cost reduction to $4,000 per site.
