Dervala emerged with a couple of bucolic posts that you might think were about chickens, and I suppose on some levels they are. About chickens.

I liked the part about the ram’s cohones.
A while back I was standing by the pasture fence
with my 13 year old granddaughter and her friend.

I pointed out with inexplicable pride the size of Andrew
(the bull)’s testicles, noting that scrotum size is a
key measure of a bulls virility.

Grandaughter said,”You really didn’t need to share that with us Granny.”

I realized suddenly that either polite conversation is different on a farm, or I’m getting to old to understand what “age approriate subject matter” means.
