We counted thirty-five varieties of flowers on our walk this morning. The only criteria for making the list are that the flowers must be in bloom and they must not be intentionally cultivated. So the daylilies naturalized in the ditch make the list. The neighbor’s clematis winding prettily up her mailbox does not. Among the more interesting and quasi-exotic were Joe Pye Weed, prairie loosestrife, and yellow coneflowers.
