    Apple users are such nice people.  It’s a shame to see them swayed to the dark side that is Intel.  Ah well, the geeks will finally get to enjoy faster horses.

    may I suggest that you (and others) may have missed the point?
    If I were Microsoft, I’d be VERY VERY scared. Because if Apple OS runs on Intel, what’s to stop users deserting Windoze in droves and porting to Apple’s OS, after all it’ll be the same HW?

    Hardwiring some kind of DRM evil into the chip would do it. Though how hard that would be and whether anyone could get Intel to do it are both beyond me.

    Ahh well… if you take the 90% and more Wintel desktops and add-in the 2% to 5% OSX desktops shake or stir… you’ll find a market that is ripe for a takeover.
