The debate is heating up. According to John L. Jackson Jr., associate professor of communication and anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania writing in the Chronicle of Higher Education, as well as informed Christian critics, McCain’s “The One” ad is more than a slam at Obama’s “audacity.” It is tied directly to the “Left Behind” books that millions and millions of right-wing Christians read. The ad reflects the symbol structure of those books to paint Obama as the Antichrist. How rude. I was upset to read that.
But I felt better when I saw this Paris Hilton campaign ad.
