Quaker midnight

I went to the “Save the Internet” party at the Gibson Guitar factory last night. Ran into John Nichols, a serious redhead. Every time I see him I am blown away bythat carrot top. Looks like Madison is represented down here in Memphis.

I had a nice conversation with Bruce Jacobs, author of “Race Manners.” (He acknowledged that his title echoes Cornel West). Bruce came from Baltimore by train, a long journey with a twelve hour layover in Chicago. Sounds inconvenient, but he loves trains and offers as a rationalization for his preference that train travel may take a little longer than air, but it’s more expensive.

The party was just getting started when I left a little after 10pm. More snapshots in the set
