I read that post too. I almost always end up feeling so sad for the USA (such a vague generalization about “America” on my part, although Norman Mailer says in this interview that America is in pretty desperate shape psychically … and that was 3+ years ago).

The interview has nothing to do with the topic of your post, other than commentary on what passes for news and information, etc. in the USA (along with some interesting insights on values and ideology).
