I should start a dead pets blog. I could charge for the cathartic opportunities. People faced with a decision about putting down a pet could open a window to post by dropping a nickel in the paypal account. I’d be my own best customer. It seems not long ago that I was writing about Maggie and the necessary decision. Today it’s Brandy’s turn for that sad last visit to the vet.
No more of these posts for a few years, I promise. When Brandy passes away, the average age of the pet population here will drop from about eight years to three years (one middle aged cat, one young dog).
Brandy was maybe two when we got her in 1993. She’s lived outdoors in a kennel her whole life. It’s October and another Wisconsin winter will be here shortly. This is the worst part about loving a pet.

(Easy does it), my sympathies go out to you and family.
Oh, Frank! You have my sympathy too, as does your companion.
Thanks for the condolences. The old doggie slipped away while the vet and I mumbled good-doggy and gave her a few last strokes.
Frank, so sorry to hear this for you. Have grown to love your animals through your accounts.
Thanks for your sympathy Tamar.
Dear Frank–Thinking of you and Brandy–that last trip to the vet was a sad journey for me with Marianne this year.
That’s tough, Frank. You have our belated sympathies.
We lost bulldog Wilma earlier in the year. Now we are bringing up a new bulldog bitch pup ‘Frieda’,

That Frieda is a beauty! I hope she learns how to skateboard!
