    Today at the farmer’s market…

Notice how the coffee cups switch hands and the parent in front of the camera has to hold the lisyanthus.

There are a few more pictures quite like these over on FlickR. Look for tag “Madison Farmers Market”

A lovely family indeed. The mystery of the coffee cups and the lisyanthus cries out for an answer (or speculation).

Hold the coffee far enough away that the oldster can’t steal it, load the oldster down with something fragile so they are unlikely to wrestle you for the coffee… I also noticed that when there are two tallers and a shorter, the shorter goes in the middle. If there are two shorters and a taller, then the taller goes in the middle. These seem to be unwritten rules of composition in my family.

Oh, the humanity! The oldsters’ lives are filled with social engineering and coffee grief. The compositional rules are understandable and bear no weight of opprobrium, but the treatment of the oldsters fills me with outrage.

Though really, the younger family members look so friendly and nice that a certain amount of social engineering is forgiveable.

You’re funny Frank. Your view of the world, your family. All smiles.
