- Mandrills are related to baboons and have coats that range in color from dark brown to olive gray.- The adult male has a bright red nose and blue cheeks and a blue rump. When the male mandrill is angry or otherwise excited, the colors become even brighter.

I post the above to prove a point. A group of Canadian skeptics (Moffatt, Husband, and an anonymous marketeer known only as "memer") made light of what I consider an important biological observation: the color of a baboon’s butt is an important (to the baboon, certainly) secondary sexual characteristic. BMO seems to be the ringleader, but the other two show a similar disdain for biology. I think they all could use a good spanking.
I Googled my ass off looking for a suitable picture of a baboon butt to prove my point, but as in many matters sexual, the best evidence proved to be textual. I found HighBeam Research to be very informative. For example, I learned that Sandra Bullock had a close relationship with a baboon that was sealed when he presented her his highly colored ass.
The trainer showed Sandra how to communicate by smacking her lips together rapidly in a kind of baboon greeting. Sandra smacked her lips, the baboon smacked its lips and they became friends. But what really forged the bond was when Sandra groomed the baboon. If you watch primates they’re always picking through each other’s hair for fleas and ticks. Not every actress would go that far, but within minutes the animal paid Sandra the ultimate compliment by turning its back on her and sticking its butt out to be scratched - baboon language for "we’re mates".
