It’s an interesting thought, taking back the language of the apocalyptic. However, even if the Biblical language were reclaimed or taken over it wouldn’t achieve anything. The affinity for apocalypse of the wingnuts is the same as the state of exception for the secular power freaks. It has nothing to do with any thoughts on the nature of the divine or an attempt to pass ethical culture from generation to generation. The wingnut religious intellectuals are justification content providers. They have a business model and a political agenda. Were the effort successful, they’d find something else or simply assert that the assertion of faith served as a disproof.

Postmodernity can be defined in any terms, so why not New Age moral relativism? Limiting a discussion of morality to a question of will and social constructs seems futile to me, and downright meretricious — the work of Satan, if you will.
