Who is this Scoble person of whom I hear so much? Who is this Hugh Macleod? And who, in God's name, is this Winer person? I do not know these people.

I might've known 'em. But you know how it goes. Eventually it's a case of "Fuck it. What am I doing reading this bullshit?" Answering that, I find myself appreciating their true value. In short: squat. For me anyway. They have their acolytes. Let 'em eat 'em.

Second Phil's thoughts. Strongly.

Accountability is all in this new environment, where are words and thoughts are read, heard or seen by many whom we don't really know, who are not in the psycho-social feedback loops of our primary and secondary F2F relationships where context and boundaries are often clearer. What we say and do is who we are, to others, and this medium offers us all a lot of learning about who and how we, and others, are.

We all have warts, and we all live and work in some for of soap opera in which we are active participants. All I ask of myself is that I think critically about all that implies.

Wow. You've been holding that in for a bit, Frank. Feel better?

It's overwhelming and I've been having some of the same thoughts. It's dark. Messy. Challenging my values of privacy and intimacy. Making me rethink my own behavior, my own public faces. Holding myself to account for the new year.

And it's always very human. That's the good thing, I think. That our conversations are showing who we are, warts and soap operas and all.
