There’s a mourning dove hunting season?

I don’t know what I find this odd. It’s not really. In Town here, they used to shoot starlings. About twenty years ago. But the thing was only the police could shoot them. So, imagine, the eight or ten cops revlovers unhlostered firing into the trees of the quaint tree-lined streets. Years ago when I lived in Toronto, the sea gull population was so bad on the Toronto Islands - they were breeding, out of control, like Catholics - the parks department was forced to posion the eggs in spring.

If this were rats, would we care?

I’m going to get myself a tree stand, see what the voices say to me.

Oddly, the State department of Natural Resources takes just that approach on the lakes. Sometimes they will poison a lake to save it. They kill every fish in the lake, then re-stock with a balance that is more “natural.”

Terrible thing is, it works.
