So I opined to the group, "Was the Pope Polish?" Some good jokes never die. They take on different tenses, but they never die. I am so relieved; for a while there, I feared it might be a white smoke/black smoke sort of situation. Further, I feared the pope/polish line might suffer the fate of that other chestnut, "Number 68!" "Thud" ...long pause... "its all in how you tell it." Yes, it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I report to you that even that joke is suffering from the ill efects of old age. Yes, Bunky .... oops, that's history, too.
