I forget the official title, but the bottom line is this: for a few cents, you can buy a "proof of mailing." No receipt signature from the other end, or proof of it actually having been delivered. But pure proof of having mailed it, stamped and made official by a feller or gal very similar to the one who tried to sell you that book of stamps. We divorced dads, writers and senders of checks for child support, know all about the cheapest ways to use the system without spending any more than necessary.
