And this is a (hopefully sucessful) attempt to write a comment again, too. Stu PS: Read my Sunday blog entry for the (w)hole story about Saddam's "capture". Yup, I can read them again now Frank.

Stu noticed it wasn't working and sent me an email. I forwardd the email to TypePad support this morning and went upstairs for my "8 Minutes in the Morning workout and a bowl of granola. When i returned there was a message in my in-box pointing me to the instruction that fixes the problem. These people have it together. They are more than nominally user oriented. It's the real thing. Tom, I'm looking into the best way to alias the old URL so nobody has to change links. This is a big project for me because a) I am technically inept. b) I am time constrained. c) I still need to find a new hosting service for the reams of useless info I've piled up online at Sandhill over the last six or seven years. But I want anybody who clicks on a http://www.sandhilltech.com/weblog/blogger.html/ link to arrive here as if by magic. Right now, I have a redirect instruction over at the old place that sends people here in 10 seconds or so. If they want to go back, I've provided a static page over there for them to rummage around in: http://www.sandhilltech.com/weblog/blogger.html/index1.html There's more to all this than meets the eye. As for you Golby, tell me, does Santa Claus find his way south of the equator? Does he travel in a humvee down there? Keith Richards reminds me of a Terry Southern short story that I'd recommend you read, if you haven't already. It's called "Blood of a Wig" and it's to be found in the "Red Dirt Marijuana and Other Tastes" collection. As you can see, I'm trying to set a high literary tone here in my new surroundings. How am I doing so far? Thanks Stu.

Thanks Brian.

This must be the first time in his five-and-summat decades Mr. Paynter has been so maligned. How you can accuse our favorite Child of the 60s recidivist of such a vile and evil thing; to wit, being wise, in his first blog post, is beyond me. No. Frank is quite mad. Always has been; always will be. The Keith Richards of the Blogosphere. We prefer him that way :). I must say, old Keith has aged well. He looks no more the worse for wear than he did at thirty. Life has indeed been kind to him. Mind you, life can be said to have been kind to any former dope-fiend still around to celebrate birthdays. Yeah... life is good, as is this nascent new home of dementia. Now, light this bloody candle, Frank, and take us in orbit :). “Wise”, Stu?
